Civil No: 1:IXOYE (GK)

Judge: God, Lord

Filed: 6000 years ago.

MEMORANDUM OF THE APOSTLE PAUL IN OPPOSITION TO
MAN’S EXCUSE OF IGNORANCE

Rom 1:18-23

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

NAS

The key to Romans 1:18-23 is that the truth has been written on every man’s heart from birth. God’s laws and natures have been written deep into the moral fiber of every man and humanity calls it a conscience and what man reacts to his conscience with is the second nature that God has written on his heart from birth, his will. The same will that accepts or rejects the conscience accepts or rejects the creator of that conscience by his own choice. God gave man the freedom of choice! What an awesome gift! We are not forced to worship mindlessly or without reason, but by choice. Ignorance is a choice, not an excuse. Only the Creator is worthy of praise and worship. How blind have we become to His truth that we value the created things more than He who created all things.

Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart there is no God”. Choices have consequences, read on…

24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them.

25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

NAS

This is the fist of three deliverances and although man continues to reject God, God clearly continues to attempt to change the will of man. Man’s lack of repentance leads to God’s further judgment.

26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,

30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;

32 and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

NAS

A depraved mind, the last of three judgments. I believe this to mean that the mind no longer functions as God intended. A depraved mind is a mind without the conscience. God’s fingerprint has been removed from the heart and the heart now beats out its own rhythm. Seeking its own, living for itself alone and longing for companionship. A heart not without morality, but a morality that has no base in the fear of the Creator. A morality with no absolute’s, no foundation and open to re-negotiation. God’s Law is absolute and unyielding. The wages of sin is death. Where is your foundation? Don’t get caught up in the quicksand of the Heathen Man!

1 Peter 2:6-8

"Behold I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone,

And he who believes in Him shall not be disappointed."

7 This precious value, then, is for you who believe. But for those who disbelieve,

"The stone which the builders rejected,

This became the very corner stone,"

"A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense";

Put your faith in the Rock! The chief corner stone! Repent and sin no more. Rejoice in God’s righteousness and perfect plan. Glorify His name and purify your heart!

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
